Walk through a distribution company's day and count how much of it happens at a desk. Orders are taken at the customer's counter. Stock moves on a van. Cash is collected on the road. Yet many companies run ERP systems that only work in the office — which means the system remembers what happened instead of running what is happening.
The gap between the field and the system
When the ERP is desktop-only, the field runs on notebooks, WhatsApp messages, and memory. Every evening someone types the day into the system, and every typing session adds delay and errors. Stock numbers are hours or days old, collections are reconciled late, and managers approve things they cannot see.
What changes when the ERP is mobile-first
With the system in every rep's pocket, the invoice is created at the moment of sale — with live prices, the customer's balance, and available stock right there. The payment is recorded when the cash is received. The warehouse sees the transfer request the minute it is made. The manager approves from wherever they are. There is no "entering the day into the system" because the day happened inside the system.
Control gets stronger, not weaker
Owners sometimes fear that moving operations to phones loosens control. The opposite is true: every action is stamped with who did it and when, reps see only their own customers and their own treasury, and approval flows replace verbal permissions. A mobile ERP is how a growing company keeps the discipline of a small one.
We have built this, in production
This is not theory for us. For A One Vet, an Egyptian veterinary distribution company, the mobile app is the operating system of the field: orders, invoices, returns, warehouse transfers, collections, expenses, per-rep treasuries, and approvals — bilingual and Arabic-first.

You do not need every module on day one. Start with the flow that hurts most — usually field invoicing and collections — then grow module by module on the same foundation. That phased path is exactly how we like to build; read our take on MVPs.
